Cops: Driver sought in Roslyn pedestrian hit-run

Nassau County police are looking for the driver of a navy blue late-model Mercedes who struck a pedestrian Monday in Roslyn.

Police said a man, 51, was walking across Northern Boulevard at about 6:05 p.m. when he was hit by the Mercedes, which was driving east.

The driver continued eastbound without stopping, according to a news release.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital with a head injury, police said. The vehicle that struck him sustained front-end damage and is missing a driver's side mirror, police said. The victim's condition was not known Tuesday.
