Cops: Elmont boy made false bomb threat

A 12-year-old Elmont boy was taken into custody Wednesday morning after he dialed 911 and falsely reported a bomb threat at a high school, police said.

The student at Elmont High School, 555 Ridge Rd., used another student's cellphone at 9:58 a.m. to report that a bomb was to go off there, Nassau police said.

Responding officers determined that there was no device at the school, police said. After an investigation, the juvenile was taken into custody, police said.
