Police said officers stopped him for driving on the sidewalk along Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream early Wednesday.

Then Nassau County police arrested Oluwayemi Famojuro, 21, of Far Rockaway, Queens, after they said he gave Fourth Precinct officers a driver's license that contained a description of a driver nearly one foot taller than his height.

A subsequent search also determined that Famojuro was in possession of four credit cards that appeared to have been altered, police said. The Crimes Against Property Squad determined the cards were forged.

Police said the initial traffic stop occurred just before 2 a.m., when officers saw Famojuro, driving a 2006 Infinity G35, exiting a gas station. Instead of entering the eastbound roadway, though, police said Famojuro drove on the sidewalk.

After being stopped and giving officers the license, police said Famojuro "continued to falsely represent himself" -- despite the obvious differential between the description on the license and his real height.

Famojuro was charged with four counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and false personation.

He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
