Cops: Freeport robbery suspect arrested

One of the three suspects in a robbery early Saturday morning in Freeport has been arrested, police said.

According to Nassau police, two men, ages 25 and 26, were walking near Guy Lombardo Avenue and Pine Street at 3:04 a.m. when the male suspects, riding bicycles, surrounded them. One of the suspects punched the 26-year-old on the left side of his face, taking an undetermined amount of cash from his back pants pocket, police said.

The other victim tried to escape, but was thwarted when a suspect intentionally used his bicycle to run into him, punching him in the face and removing a cellphone from his pants pocket, police said.
