Cops: Homeless teen charged in Lakeview burglaries

A homeless teen was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with four burglaries in the Lakeview area dating back to late May, police said.

Michael J. Ivey, 18, was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary and faces arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.

Ivey was arrested after the investigation of a break-in at a home on Barbara Lane on Friday, Nassau County police said. During that incident, police said, Ivey stole cash and a credit card after entering the home through a rear window.

That investigation tied Ivey to three other burglaries in the area dating back to May 30.

Police did not detail evidence tying Ivey to the crimes.
