Cops: Homeless woman charged in Levittown break-in
A homeless woman who broke into a Levittown gas station late Sunday faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief, Nassau County police said.
Ariana Pecorella, 35, was inside the garage bay area of the Getty station at 606 Wantagh Ave. when Second Precinct officers responded to a 911 call at about 10:50 p.m., police said.
Police investigated to find that Pecorella used a brick to break a glass panel on the garage door to gain entry, police said. Then she broke several thermoplastic panels, which also were a part of the door, police said.
Pecorella, who used a brick to break the panels, police said, was arrested and taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow with cuts to her hands and for "substance abuse," according to a news release.
She is charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead when "medically practical," police said.
