The female robber wore high heels -- a clue Nassau County police detectives hope will help lead them to a man and woman armed robbery team.

The pair held up the In and Out Delicatessen on Nassau Road in Roosevelt at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday before fleeing northbound on foot, police said.

Police said the man is believed to be in his mid-to-late 30s or early 40s, approximately 5-foot-9 and somewhere between 180 and 230 pounds.

The woman was described as being about 5-foot-3 and 100 pounds. She wore high heels.

The robbers entered the store and police said the man "displayed a handgun" while the woman stole "an undetermined amount" of cash from two registers in the store.

Two male employees, one age 53 and the other 51, were in the deli at the time. There were no reported injuries, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robbery pair to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
