A Farmingdale man is charged with possession of stolen property and fleeing police after ditching a stolen van on the Northern State Parkway in Jericho Monday and then running off into the woods, State Police said.

Eddie Murdock, 55, refused to stop for troopers attempting to pull him over for traffic violations at about 10:29 p.m., police said in a news release Wednesday.

Murdock abandoned a white Ford fan on the Northern State Parkway near Exit 35, Route 107, and fled into the woods. Troopers arrested Murdock a short time later, according to a news release.
