Cops: Man carjacked at gunpoint in Roosevelt

A man was carjacked by three men, two of them armed, who rammed his vehicle with theirs in Roosevelt early Sunday, Nassau police said.

The 24-year-old victim was driving a 2007 Toyota north on Brookside Avenue near Cramer Court about 4:30 a.m. when another vehicle hit his car from behind, police said.

After both vehicles pulled over, two men from the second vehicle jumped out, wearing ski masks and holding handguns, and approached the victim, police said. A third man stayed with the second vehicle. All three wore black clothing.

One of the armed men ordered the victim out of the car, then jumped into the victim's car while the two other suspects got back into the second car, police said.

Both vehicles then left northbound on Brookside Avenue. The victim's car was later found unoccupied on the westbound Southern State Parkway near Elmont Road by New York State Police.

The victim was not injured.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous.
