Cops: Man robbed, stabbed in Uniondale

Nassau County police are looking for a man who robbed another in Uniondale late Friday, stabbing him in the abdomen and riding away on a bicycle.

Police said the suspect grabbed his victim, 40, from behind about 8:15 p.m. on Emerson Place.

The victim broke away and ran down the street, where the suspect caught up to him, knocked him to the ground, punched him in the face and stabbed him, police said.

The suspect took a cellphone and an unspecified amount of cash before riding off on a BMX bicycle.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. A news release from police did not provide specific information on the severity of the injuries.
