Cops: Man robbed at gunpoint, robbers flee on bikes

Police are investigating an armed robbery early Wednesday of a pedestrian in Elmont.

The victim, 22, was walking at 2:05 a.m. on Gotham Avenue at Hempstead Turnpike when he was approached by two men who each displayed a black handgun and demanded money, Nassau County police said in a news release.

The victim handed over money, and the suspects "fled the scene on two bicycles southbound Gotham Avenue," police said.

No one was injured.
