Nassau County detectives are seeking information on a man who they say stole items, including credit cards, from fitness club lockers and then used the cards to buy merchandise.

The first theft occurred Jan. 14, when the man -- with a goatee, thin face, medium build and 40 to 50 years old -- entered the Equinox Fitness Club, 7550 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and removed cash, credit cards and a watch from a man's unlocked locker, police said.

Merchandise from various Nassau County department stores was later charged to the cards, police said.

On the following day a man appearing "to be the same subject" entered the LA Fitness Club, 3601 Hempstead, Tpke., Levittown, between 12:15 p.m. and 2:05 p.m., and broke into a man's locker, taking his car keys, police said.

The victim's iPhone, airline tickets and wallet, containing cash, driver's license and credit cards, were later found to have been removed from his locked 2014 Jeep, police said. Merchandise from a nearby department store was charged to the cards, police said.
