A North Bellmore man faces a felony drunken driving charge after State Police said they found him driving on a flat tire early Saturday on the Southern State Parkway in North Wantagh.

Joseph Munsch, 22, is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, criminal possession of a weapon and several traffic violations, police said.

The driving with a suspended license charge is a felony because Munsch's license had been suspended for an alcohol-related offense, police said.

The weapons charge is because Munsch had brass knuckles, police said.

At his arraignment Saturday Munsch was ordered held on $2,500 bond. He is due back at First District Court in Hempstead on Jan. 14.

Troopers said Munsch was seen driving a blue Jeep Wrangler on the right shoulder of the parkway, east of the Bethpage State Parkway, at about 3:10 a.m.

The vehicle was operating on its driver's side front rim and had a flat tire on the rear, troopers said.

Police said Munsch smelled of "alcoholic beverage," failed sobriety tests and produced a breath-analyzer reading of .16 percent, twice the legal limit.
