A Merrick woman was arrested Monday for leaving the scene when she failed to stop after hitting a landscaper and instead continued to her home, Nassau County police said.
Rhonda Wander, 59, was released after her arrest and issued an appearance ticket, police said.
She is suspected of striking a 48-year-old worker with her vehicle on Narwood Avenue in Merrick Monday afternoon, police said. The victim obtained her license plate number and reported it to officers, police said.
Police found Wander at her home, but later brought her back to the scene and placed her under arrest, police said.
The victim, who officers did not identify, suffered back, arm and leg pain. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Wander is due in First District Court in Hempstead on April 17.
