Cops: Motorist stopped on Southern arrested on drug charges
On a Southern State Parkway on-ramp in Valley Stream Sunday morning, an Elmont man was pulled over by a state trooper because he wasn't wearing a seat belt - but the traffic stop soon became a drug arrest when the trooper found marijuana and prescription painkillers in his car, police said.
