Police said a man who was incarcerated at the Nassau County Correctional Facility in East Meadow was introduced to Paisley Bettis, 24, in May by another person. The victim agreed to sign personal property over to Bettis and asked that she give it to his parents, police said. But upon his release five days later, the victim discovered that Bettis had withdrawn $2,000 in cash from his bank account using his ATM card, which had been included in the belongings, before returning it to his parents.

Bettis was found at her home at 42 Dickson St. at 3 p.m. on Friday and arrested without incident, police said. She is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
