Cops probe bullet that hit car in Freeport

Police responding to a report of gunshots in the Village of Freeport found a bullet had struck the rear windshield of car parked outside a private home.

Nassau County police said the incident occurred about 10:33 p.m. Wednesday on East Milton Street.

Officers saw that a bullet had struck the windshield of 2003 BMW, police said. There were no reported injuries.

Detectives asked anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS (8477).
