Police said an intruder seen searching through the offices of Long Beach High School was scared off by officers responding to a 911 call early Tuesday.

The burglary, during which nothing was taken, occurred at the school on Lagoon Drive in Lido Beach at about 4:40 a.m., Nassau County police said.

Police said a 911 call reported the intruder and arriving officers were advised by the custodial staff that a suspect, described as tall, about 20 years old, and wearing black pants and a black backpack had fled the scene.
