Two men robbed a Carle Place restaurant at gunpoint early Friday, taking an undisclosed amount of cash, Nassau County police said.

The Panera Bread restaurant at 165 Old Country Rd. was robbed at about 1:45 a.m., after closing, police said.

Two men -- including one with a handgun -- forced the store manager, 38, into the back of the restaurant and made him open an office safe, according to a news release.

The suspects, who had their faces partially covered with bandannas, took an unspecified amount of cash from the safe and fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.
