Police said the first burglary occurred at 2:12 p.m. on Aug. 22, when a 69-year-old woman was accosted and robbed as she entered her garage on Forest Avenue. The second burglary took place on Tuesday at 2:14 p.m., when a 74-year-old woman was robbed as she entered the garage at her home on Longacre Avenue.

Neither of the women was hurt.

Police described the two incidents as burglaries because the suspect accosted the women in their garages.

Police said among the items stolen in the burglaries were: a gold Tiffany style pear-shaped ring; a Celtic weave bracelet; a wedding ring; and, a diamond ring. It was not immediately clear which items were stolen in which incident.
