Two masked men, one of them armed with a handgun, struck a man before robbing him and stealing his car in Roosevelt on Saturday night, Nassau County police said.

The victim of the robbery, a 59-year-old man, was getting out of his car on Decatur Street shortly before 10:45 p.m. when two men came up to him. The men, wearing black ski masks, shouted at the victim to get down on the ground, then began going through the victim's pockets, police said.

The men took cash from the victim, then one of the men hit the victim on the back of his head with a Tech-9 handgun, police said. The two suspects then got into the man's car and drove north on Decatur Street, police said. The victim's wallet also was in the car, police said.

The man received a cut on his head, but refused medical attention at the scene.
