Nassau County police detectives are seeking information on a robbery Wednesday in Elmont in which two 16-year-old men handed over their sneakers, as well as a BlackBerry and iPhone.

At 10:10 p.m. the teens were walking on Ludlam Avenue when a white Nissan pulled over, two men got out and told the pedestrians to empty their pockets and give them their sneakers, said police.

One man, described as 20 years old, 6-foot-2, 220 pounds with short dread locks, displayed a silver handgun, police said. The other man was described as 20 years old, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and wearing navy blue shorts and a white tank top, according to police.

After the pedestrians turned over their possessions, the two men got back into the Nissan, which was then driven west on Ludlam by a third man, described as 160 pounds, thin build, wearing a black jogging jacket with white stripes on the arms, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery can call Nassau County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-244-TIPS.
