Cops seek two in Mineola menacing incident

Nassau County Police are looking for two men accused of menacing in Mineola.

On Tuesday at 11:48 p.m., the men approached an unidentified 50-year-old man as he sat in his vehicle at the intersection of Grant Avenue and Horton Highway in Mineola, according to detectives from Nassau's Third Squad. One man pulled a black semiautomatic handgun from his waistband and placed it to the victim's head, police said. The victim swatted the gun away from his head and the two men fled east on Grant Avenue toward Mineola Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

The man with the gun is described as in his early 20s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a medium build and short black curly hair. Police said the man has a Portuguese accent and was wearing a plaid short-sleeve shirt and dark pants. The man who was with him is described by police as in his early 20s, 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a medium build and close-cut blonde hair. He was wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
