Police are searching for two women who walked into a TD Bank branch in New Cassel on Thursday, started a conversation with the teller, then stated they had a bomb -- before proceeding to rob the bank.
The incident occurred at the bank branch on Old Country Road at about 7:20 p.m., Nassau County police said.
Police said one woman is 5-feet-6 inches tall with "a heavy build" and "dark curly hair" and said she was wearing a beige coat.
The second woman was shorter, maybe 5-fee-5 inches tall, and had a "thin build, dark straight hair with red streaks," and police said she was wearing a gray, red and black North Face jacket with "reflective stripes."
Both women were described as being in their mid-30s to early 40s, police said.
Four employees and one customer were in the bank when the robbery occurred, police said. No one was injured.
Police did not say how much money was taken.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
