Three Nassau County teens are under arrest after they tried to steal a smartphone from another teen, forcing him into a car at gunpoint before the victim escaped Wednesday afternoon in Farmingdale, police said.

Simon Distefano, 18, of 1098 North Broadway in North Massapequa; Nicholas Lipari, 17, of 18 Roberts St. in South Farmingdale; and Steven Ryan, 18, of 23 Meadow Lane in South Farmingdale were all arrested and charged with second-degree attempted robbery, Nassau County police said.

All are scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said the trio spotted the 18-year-old male victim near a Subway restaurant on Boundary Avenue in Farmingdale shortly after 3 p.m., and two of the suspects got out of a Nissan Altima, approached the teen and demanded his smartphone.

Police could not immediately say which two suspects got out of the car, but said one "displayed a black semiautomatic pistol" and the other "displayed an electroshock weapon" -- a stun gun -- and forced the victim into the Altima. There, police said, the suspects attempted to hold down the teen in order to steal the phone. But, police said, the teen broke free.

The trio was arrested after the teen called 911.
