Cops: Tires, rims stolen in Merrick, N. Merrick

Tires and rims were stolen from three cars in Merrick and North Merrick early Friday morning, police said.

Nassau County police said unknown people removed four tires and rims from the three vehicles, totaling 12 of each between 4:10 and 7:36 a.m.

The first report came from an owner of a black 2011 Nissan Maxima, parked on a Camp Avenue driveway; the second, a blue 2012 Nissan Maxima parked in front of a house on Remson Avenue, both in Merrick. The last vehicle targeted was a white 2010 Lincoln-Continental, parked on a Roberta Lane driveway in North Merrick.

Police said one witness observed three suspects flee in a black sedan west on Camp Avenue. Detectives request anyone with information on these crimes contact 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
