A 3-year-old girl drowned in an in-ground swimming pool in Brookville Monday, Nassau police said.

The child, pulled from a pool on Beech Tree Lane sometime before noon, was taken to Syosset Hospital in Syosset, where she was pronounced dead at 1:52 p.m., officials said.

The identity of the child and additional details concerning the drowning were not available Monday.
