Cops: Trio rob 2 teens in Massapequa

Police are searching for three males in the robbery of two teens in Massapequa early Saturday morning.

According to Nassau County police, at 2 a.m. three unknown males approached the teens, males ages 16 and 17, who were walking east on Merrick Road at Bayview Road.

One suspect asked the 16-year-old about the contents of his backpack, police said. He then punched the teen in the left cheek, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer a small cut, police said. The suspect then took the victim's backpack, police said.

Two other suspects approached the 17-year-old victim, demanding his personal property, police said. The suspects removed an iPhone from his pants pocket and a wallet with personal papers and an undetermined amount of money, police said.

The victim declined medical attention for his cut and no other injuries were reported.

The subjects fled on foot.
