Two homeless men were arrested after stealing copper refrigerator coils from a Hicksville heating and cooling company, Nassau police said Tuesday.

At about 10:50 p.m. Sunday, James H. Froelich, 52, went into a fenced in area of Traditional Air Conditioning Systems at 32 East Carl St., took two copper refrigerator coils and handed them to Paul C. Anspake, 48, who was waiting on the other side of the area's gate, police said.

The two then fled.

At about 3:32 a.m. Tuesday, the two were found in the 100 block of Old Country Road in Hicksville and arrested without incident, police said.

Each man is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Froelich also is charged with criminal trespass. Police believe the men were planning to sell the copper as scrap.
