Cops: Two pedestrians hit by car in Roosevelt

Two pedestrians were struck by a car crossing a street in Roosevelt Tuesday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

The accident happened at the intersection of Babylon Turnpike and Monroe Avenue at about 1:15 p.m., police said.

It was not immediately clear how seriously those victims may have been injured. Emergency personnel was called to the scene.

It was not known if the driver remained at the scene.

The identity of the victims has not been released.
