A Valley Stream man was arrested Saturday on charges that he used a fraudulent credit card to pay for nearly $900 in Mexican food and tried -- unsuccessfully -- to steal more food the same way a month later, Nassau County Police said.

Vinson Noel, 28, of 30 Essex Place, was arrested during a surveillance sting on Saturday. Police said Noel was attempting to purchase food and beverages at Cabo Mexican restaurant, 3A N. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre, using two different forged credit cards. The cards were both declined.

Last month, on Dec. 18, Noel allegedly used a fraudulent credit card to pay for food and drinks at the same restaurant totaling $881.69, police said.

Noel was charged with two counts of second degree possession of a forged instrument, three counts of second degree identity theft and two counts of petty larceny. He was arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police ask anyone who believes they were a victim of Noel to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
