Nassau County police are investigating a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon on Sunrise Highway and Rose Place in Bellmore. The injured motorcyclist was taken by Nassau County Police Ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center. A Wantagh man was killed Saturday afternoon when he fell from his 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle after apparently experiencing a medical incident on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore, Nassau County police said.

Seventh Squad detectives said that John Morgenstern, 64, was near Rose Place when he wobbled and fell to the pavement.

Morgenstern was found unconscious and taken by Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at 1:44 p.m.

The nature of the medical incident was still unknown Sunday, police said.

The occupants of a Mini Cooper struck by Morgenstern's bike after his fall were uninjured, police said.
