Cops: Woman, 92, robbed while eating breakfast in her kitchen

Police are investigating a home invasion Wednesday morning in North Valley Stream in which a 92-year-old woman was robbed while eating breakfast, police said.

The male suspect entered the Carole Court home at 9:30 a.m. through an unlocked side door and approached the victim in her kitchen, Nassau County police said.

The suspect, described as in his mid-20s, wearing a baseball cap and a brown jacket, grabbed the victim's neck and removed a gold-colored necklace, police said in a news release.

The suspect then fled on foot, and the necklace was recovered at the scene, police said. There were no reported injuries.

Detectives urge anyone with information about the robbery to anonymously call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
