A 24-year-old East Meadow woman was arrested, charged with assault and possession of a dangerous weapon, after she stabbed her boyfriend with a pair of scissors during an argument late Wednesday in his car in Mineola, police said.
Alveena Chaudry, of 48 Fairview Ave., was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, almost two hours after the stabbing, which occurred at about 11 p.m. on Raff Avenue, police said.
The victim, identified only as 40-year-old man, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola.
Police said he had been stabbed in the right shoulder.
The couple got into an argument in a parked car and, police said, Chaudry took a pair of scissors from her pocketbook -- and stabbed her boyfriend. The man then went into his house, Chaudry following him into the kitchen, police said.
Police said that, once there, Chaudry grabbed three kitchen knives and pointed them at her boyfriend, who then yelled for a friend to come to his assistance while Chaudry fled the scene.
Police arrested Chaudry at a home in East Meadow.
Chaudry faces charges of second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon. She is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
