Cops: Woman with knife robs man at Levittown ATM

A man was robbed at knifepoint Sunday evening by a woman as he withdrew money from an ATM in Levittown, Nassau police said.

The 55-year-old victim was at the Citibank branch at 3375 Hempstead Tpke. at 7 p.m. withdrawing money from the ATM when a woman came up to him holding a knife and threatening to stab him unless he gave her money, police said.

The victim gave her an undisclosed amount of money, but the woman demanded more, police said. The victim then grabbed the arm of the suspect holding the knife and threw her to the ground before the suspect ran away northbound through an alleyway toward Hempstead Turnpike with the money she stole.

Police said there were no injuries.

The suspect was described as 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing between 120 and 125 pounds, with brown hair, and wearing a black hooded jacket with a white number on the back.
