A mother and daughter from North Merrick were arrested and charged with selling heroin Monday night in Freeport, Nassau County police said.
Denise Burke, 51, and her daughter, Danielle Burke, 18, both of 1378 Whittier Ave., were arrested after the 9 p.m. sale on Merrick Road, police said.

Danielle Burke was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, four counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, petit larceny and third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle -- the latter two charges as a result of open warrants in an unrelated incident, police said.
Her mother, Denise, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny, police said.
The latter charge for Denise Burke also was the result of an open warrant, police said.
Mother and daughter now are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
