Female pilots who served in World War II honored

Margaret Gilman, 86, of Manhasset, was one of a select group of women to fly airplanes for the military during World War II. She and a handful of other WASPs were honored Sunday at a ceremony at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport in East Farmingdale.
Gilman said she enlisted with the Women Airforce Service Pilots when she was 21, after having paid her way through flight school...
