Former Broadway performer becomes Uniondale star

Lynette Carr-Hicks never thought she would be a Broadway star. For a year and a half she worked as a stage hand, took minor non-speaking parts, and was an understudy for one of the lead roles in ?Thoroughly Modern Millie.? Then, in 2004, the actress playing ?Muzzie? left, and Carr-Hicks was in. Now Carr-Hicks is bringing her talents to Uniondale High School. The show choir group she directs won a regional competition in Manhattan in March and is heading to the national championship. Videojournalist: Jessica Rotkiewicz (March 5, 2013)
