Gold chain snatched at Massapequa mall

A man is out one gold rosary chain after a man he met at a food court in a Massapequa mall on Saturday night snatched it from his neck, Nassau County police said.

The victim, 23, had met the suspect at the Westfield Sunrise Mall food court, police said. As the two were parting with a handshake around 9:15 p.m., the suspect reached out and yanked a gold beaded rosary chain with a Virgin Mary charm from the victim's neck, police said.

The suspect then drove off in a silver Toyota Corolla. He was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 175 pounds. Police said no injuries were reported.
