Grandmother, boy hurt in church elevator
A grandmother and her 8-year-old grandson were injured at a Carle Place church Sunday morning when the elevator they were in suddenly dropped about 10 feet, Nassau police said. The woman, 66, and the boy were taking the elevator to the second floor at 9:55 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church, at 212 Stonehinge Lane, when the accident took place, police said.
