Group attacks, robs man in Uniondale, cops say

A man was pistol-whipped and robbed by a group of people as he walked in Uniondale early Sunday morning, Nassau County police said.

Police said the victim, 22, was walking north on Bedford Avenue near Mize Court at 4:29 a.m. when five people began chasing him.

After catching him, one in the group hit the victim in the stomach and another hit the victim in the face with a silver handgun, police said.

The victim fell to the ground and was kicked and punched by all five people, who then took the victim's property and cash, police said.

The group of people ran south to Jerusalem Avenue, leaving the victim with facial swelling and cuts, police said.
