Heavy rain forces closure of 22 beaches in Nassau
The Nassau County Department of Health closed 22 beaches as a precautionary measure because of heavy rain, officials announced Friday. All 17 North Shore beaches will be closed as well as five on the South Shore: Biltmore Beach Club, Hewlett Point, Island Park, Merrick Estates Civic Association and Phillip Healey.
