As the temperatures on LI continue to swing between winterlike and spring, it’s nice to know that some of the Island’s seasonal hot spots stand unfazed by Mother Nature's indecisiveness, and are getting ready to debut.

At least one Hamptons hangout has begun to show signs of life, as has a popular Fire Island venue – but now the list of summer stops gearing up for warmer days has expanded into Nassau County as the owner of Rooftop 32 in Rockville Centre has confirmed that the open-air, upstairs restaurant and lounge will be back in business this year.

In fact, that “business” will be kicking off even before April rolls around, as it plans to be open on Saturday, March 22 (weather permitting), for RVC’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. However, the official 2014 start comes on Thursday, May 1 -- the date when mature crowd-favorite Rooftop 32 (called as such because there are 32 steps on the staircase that leads to this rooftop space above Kasey's Kitchen & Cocktails) will begin serving its new food and drink menu, while also premiering its new loft space capable of staging live music -- but have no worries that the grown-up atmosphere will be changing, as the age to head up is still 30 and over for gentlemen, 25 for ladies.
