Hempstead shooter convicted of manslaughter
A Nassau County Court jury found Tuesday that the Hempstead man who shot his son's grandfather on his front lawn shortly after an argument last year is guilty of first-degree manslaughter.
Jurors, however, did not convict Diquawn Moore, 21, of the top count of second-degree murder in the Sept. 1, 2008, killing of Irving Simmons of Hempstead.
