Hempstead to pay judgment to allow sale of homes
Hempstead Village's Community Development Agency voted Tuesday night to immediately release almost $860,000 to pay a court judgment that had held up the sale of three homes to low-income residents.
"It's the right thing to do," said Hempstead Mayor Wayne Hall, who is also chairman of the CDA board. "The people impacted by this will see a light at the end of the tunnel."
