Hicksville man burned in church fire dies

The 89-year-old man who accidentally set himself on fire Thursday while lighting a candle in memory of his wife at a church in Hicksville has died, police said.

Vito Badalamente died Friday at the burn unit of Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, Nassau police said Saturday. He had burns on more than 60 percent of his body.
