Nassau detectives on Monday arrested an Oceanside man and charged him with possession of child pornography, authorities said.

James Romanelli, 46, of Christopher Street was being held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday on a charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child, an E felony.

An attorney for Romanelli could not be reached for comment.

Major Case Bureau detectives said he was arrested at his home on Monday afternoon in connection with an investigation that determined he had images of child pornography on his computer.
