LIRR service restored on Babylon branch after person struck
Service was restored on the LIRR's Babylon branch Saturday night following a suspension when a person was struck on the tracks west of the Bellmore station, the Long Island Rail Road said. Trains were delayed up to 2 hours.
The person was struck shortly after 8 p.m. and was rushed - alive - to the hospital at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, a railroad spokesman said.
