Nassau police arrested an Ozone Park man on grand larceny and drunken driving charges early Friday morning after they responded to a report of a man opening car doors in Seaford, they said.
Police were responding to Blueberry Lane and Hicksville Road at 5:15 a.m., where a man was seen opening car doors. When they got there, police stopped a 2010 Nissan, its windshield obstructed by ice, which was being driven by Brian Medley of Rockaway Boulevard.
During the traffic stop, police determined that Medley, 32, was driving while intoxicated, and he was arrested without incident, police said.
After further investigation, they determined that Medley was driving a car that had been stolen from a 28-year-old woman's home on Dogwood Lane, officers said. Medley also had a cellphone belonging to a resident on Appletree Lane and a GPS device belonging to a resident on Barberry Lane, police said.
Medley is charged with fourth degree grand larceny, two counts of fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
