Man robbed of cellphone in Freeport lot

A man who had just pulled his car into a store parking lot in Freeport was robbed of his cellphone Tuesday by a knife-wielding assailant, police said.

The knife-point robbery took place in a lot on Church Street and Main Street at 10:45 p.m.

Nassau County police said that, after the 44-year-old victim pulled into the lot, the assailant approached, displayed a knife and stole the phone.

No one was injured.
